Launchers are vital attacks that can be used to start punishing air combos. By pressing Heavy Punch and Kick simultaneously with any character, you will send your opponent flying into the air and automatically tag in your standby character, allowing you to continue your combo. This is similar to the Cross Rush system but does not require the chain combo to lead into it.
Once an opponent has been hit with a Launcher, they are defenseless. After a Launcher, your partner will be switched in automatically. The launcher also has a hidden effect. The middle and lower portions of your character are invincible while performing a launcher. This can make for tricky close-quarter mix-ups.
