Rivals

A rival is generally a person who competes fiercely with another for many reasons. Rivalries can be caused by fight requests between fighters or by accidents that were caused along the way. In Street Fighter X Tekken, there are many scenarios that were depicted that ended up in rivalries. Here's the following list of rival battles.

Rival Battles

During rival battles, a team will particularly face a rivalling team from the opposite universe. A Street Fighter team will face a Tekken team and vice versa.

Street Fighter

Ryu & Ken		Kazuya & Nina		As Ryu and Ken are walking, they bump into Kazuya and Nina, with the former stating that they haven't learned to stay out his way. Ken doesn't want any trouble so he asks Ryu what to do with them, but Ryu (who seems interested in battling them), only asks if Ken said something. Ken has no choice but to join his partner in the battle.
Guile & Abel		Heihachi & Kuma		Guile and Abel are approached by Kuma, which terrifies the former and fascinates the latter. Along with Kuma is his owner, Heihachi, while Guile asks why he's around. Heihachi asks if the two are in pursuit for the Pandora's Box. Abel decides that if they beat him and Guile, he'll tell Heihachi all the necessary information. However, if they lose, they get to keep Kuma. Heihachi, thinking they want Kuma to make bear stew or bear chops, agrees to the challenge (much to Kuma's dismay). Guile is disappointed by the challenge and wants to know why Abel declared for it. Abel's only answer is that he just wants to pet the bear.
Chun-Li & Cammy		Asuka & Lili		Chun-Li and Cammy see Asuka and Lili at a hangout point and ask what they are doing there. Asuka tries to answer, but Lili tells them to mind their business and leave. Chun-Li fires back by saying that they are not leaving anywhere. Lili tries to strike her, but Cammy deflects the strike and harshly tells them to leave. Chun Li is shocked by this and tells her to calm down. Cammy only tells her that time doesn't await. Chun-Li feels bad about this situation, but has no choice but to fight.
Zangief & Rufus		Julia & Bob		Rufus is stunned when he thinks he saw Ken Masters in a disguise (who is actually Bob). Zangief corrects him by saying that it's not Ken and that the man is too fat to reach Ken's expectations. Convinced that it is not Ken, Rufus starts to worry about Bob's build (as Rufus is also fat) and thinks that although Bob isn't as fat as him, he might have a stunning appearance. He also states that fat is the key to success. Zangief, however, tells Rufus that it is not fat that is the key to success, but muscle. Bob interrupts the two and asks if he can assist. Julia, instead wants to get to the point and she and Bob decide to commence for a battle. Amused by the challenge, Zangief and Rufus accept.
Dhalsim & Sagat		Paul & Law		Dhalsim and Sagat are walking as Dhalsim asks Sagat what they'll do once reach the South Pole. Paul and Law appear out of nowhere and ambush the duo, explaining that they need to thin out the competition since Dhalsim and Sagat seem to be their strongest competition. Sagat regards this as shameful. However, Paul and Law are not giving up. This causes Dhalsim and Sagat to take action.
Balrog & Vega		Yoshimitsu & Raven		Yoshimitsu and Raven land on the ground, though Raven is disappointed by Yoshimitsu's helicopter move. Balrog ambushes both of them from one side and Vega from the other which Vega questioning if they want to possess the Pandora's Box. Raven attempts to attack Vega, but Vega leaps to Balrog's side and declares the two ninja as foolish for trying out such a task while Balrog commences the fight.
Rolento & Ibuki		King & Marduk		Rolento asks Ibuki if she has any visual on their targets, to which Ibuki points out King and Marduk. Rolento sees that they are both very good and powerful fighters. He wants to apprehend them to the Command Unit, but Ibuki reminds him that they have to search for the Pandora's Box. Rolento ignores her and promises her a promotion is she apprehends them in under three minutes despite Ibuki not wanting one. Rolento proceeds and Ibuki follows suit. King and Marduk are alerted by this.
Poison & Hugo		Hwoarang & Steve		Poison calls out Hwoarang and Steve and finds them attractive and if they workout or play sports. Hwoarang asks who she is. She calls Hugo to tell them that they are "number one". She then goes on to challenge the duo and says that they can feel free to go away, but she has them in her clutches. Hwoarang and Steve accept the challenge.
M. Bison & Juri		Heihachi & Kuma		Kuma is playing on the ground and Heihachi is meditating. Suddenly Heihachi blocks an attack from M. Bison, who's impressed he's still got it despite been constantly beaten by his grandson. Heihachi declares Bison's approach as a death wish. Juri comes from behind and bets Kuma is delicious, to which Kuma states that she should have some chicken instead. Heihachi attempts to attack Bison, but Bison teleports back to his side. Heihachi says that Bison is arrogant and Bison says that Heihachi has gone senile before they commence their battle.
Elena & Dudley		Lei & Christie		Elena and Dudley pass Christie and Lei when Elena suddenly pauses. Dudley wants to know if there is a problem. Elena approaches Christie with her Capoeira moves. Christie asks what she can do for Elena. Elena feels a good rhythm inside of Christie (as Christie is also a Capoeira fighter) and asks if she wants to spar with her (much to Dudley's disappointment). Christie, who enjoys the challenge, gladly accepts it, although Lei tries to stop her.
Guy & Cody		Bryan & Jack-X		Guy and Cody are taking stroll when Bryan ambushes them. Cody asks if Bryan really wants to challenge him (much to Guy's annoyance), with only Bryan motioning the death signal. Jack-X tries to attack both of them, but they quickly evade the action. Bryan and Jack-X surround them. Cody finds it interesting while Guy is displeased as he wanted to avoid the situation. The two teams then engage in combat.
Sakura & Blanka		Lars & Alisa		Sakura sprints towards Lars and Alisa and asks the former if he's a superhero known as "Red Warrior Bokori Man" with Blanka jumping out of joy, thinking of the same thing, much to Lars' confusion. Alisa analyses the hero and collects data that confirms Red Warrior Bokori Man as a lead character in a children's show that's currently broadcasting. Sakura kindly asks Lars to accept her challenge.
Akuma		Ogre		Akuma wants to know who dares to challenge him. A violent storm occurs and a vortex reveals Ogre. Akuma regards him as pitiful and demands him to prove his worth. As the two prepare for the battle, Ogre charges towards Akuma.

Tekken

Kazuya & Nina		Ryu & Ken		Seeing Ryu and Ken approaching, Nina remarks that they're just punks and it's not worth fighting them. Kazuya points that Ryu and Ken made quite a name for themselves (or at least that what's he heard) and goes towards them. Ken points out that Kazuya is from G Corporation. Kazuya sees this as a warmup before himself and Nina head to the South Pole. Ryu acknowledges that they are being challenged to a fight. Kazuya laughs evilly and announces that he'll defeat them quickly, much to Nina's disappointment.
Heihachi & Kuma		Guile & Abel		As Heihachi and Kuma are walking, Kuma spots out Guile and Abel talking points them out to Heihachi. Heihachi notices Guile's hairstyle and acknowledges that he's seen him (or at least his flat-top) before. Heihachi then decides that he'll beat the life out of Guile and Abel until they tell him his secrets, as Kuma agreed. Abel notices Heihachi and Kuma and alerts Guile and the two walk towards them, with Abel making eye contact with Kuma, which enrages his anger. Heihachi and Kuma then get in their fighting stances, with Heihachi saying if Guile and Abel could stand up to his fists.
Asuka & Lili		Chun-Li & Cammy		Asuka and Lili talking about how to go to the Antartic. Lili suggests that they should use her family's boat, but Asuka tells her they couldn't because the boat is too big and it's like putting a target on their backs. Lili then remarks that Asuka doesn't have any better ideas. Asuka then explains that they will sneak onto the boat until Chun-Li interrupts her saying that their intentions aren't going to happen. They turn around noticing her with Cammy. Chun-Li says the area is off limits to civilians, and Lili says that herself and Asuka's presence is none of their business, and Chun-Li says that their business is whatever they choose it be. Cammy, annoyed, suggests that they should stop talking and just arrest Asuka and Lili, calling them stowaways. Asuka points out that they didn't do anything. Asuka apologizes, but they have to keep Chun-Li and Cammy quiet, and they both prepare for battle.
Julia & Bob		Zangief & Rufus		Rufus (with Zangief tagging behind), approaches Julia and Bob, thinking Bob is Ken Masters. Rufus thinks he's wearing a disguise. Zangief catches up tells Rufus that Bob isn't Ken and about how they should find Pandora. Rufus is already convinced that Bob is Ken because of Bob's blonde hair, but Zangief says he has a different face. As they are arguing, Julia tells Bob that Zangief and Rufus are doing some type of comedy act, but Bob says that maybe Rufus has mistaken him for someone else. Bob then says that they would make an interesting fight, and he thinks that he has found a kindred spirit, with Julia being annoyed.
Paul & Law		Dhalsim & Sagat		Paul and Law spot Sagat off guard and Law acknowledges that it's their best chance to seize the moment. Paul cares less about Sagat being the King of Muay Thai and says that no one can stand to a two-on-one ambush. Law then says that should take Sagat down before Dhalsim comes back. Dhalsim then appears behind them without Paul and Law noticing him, listening to their every conversation. They notice Dhalsim surprisingly, and Dhalsim says that he hopes they aren't preparing for an ambush, while Sagat comes back. Paul, realizing that their plan failed, decides that himself and Law should take them on together.
Yoshimitsu & Raven		Balrog & Vega		Yoshimitsu and Raven spot Balrog and Vega walking and Raven tells Yoshimitsu that they need to be discreet before approaching them, and Yoshimitsu agrees. Raven tells him that he'll create a diversion and interrupts himself when Yoshimitsu goes on right ahead and tells them to stop , catching Balrog and Vega's attention. Yoshimitsu lands on the ground and tells them to prepare for a fight when Raven swoops in and kicks him and yells at him for blowing their cover. Yoshimitsu says that it's a battle between warriors and that soldiers should be honorable. Raven yells at him again. Balrog wonders what's their problem and Vega remarks that the whole scene is just disgusting.
King & Marduk		Rolento & Ibuki		Marduk tells King that he'll ask around for the box, knowing the box isn't there. Marduk then steps back from three of Ibuki's kunai. They both look up seeing Rolento and Ibuki running towards them, Ibuki apologizing for their sneak attack. She then remarks that they are trying to capture King and Marduk, throwing more kunai and attacking Marduk, which the former blocked, and asks what they're doing. Rolento then tries to attack King (which King dodges) with his baton and tells him he's about to get drafted, and King tells them to get out of their way.
Hwoarang & Steve		Poison & Hugo		Hwoarang and Steve approach Poison and Hugo arguing on what they want to eat. Hugo wanting hot dogs, which Poison wants Chinese food. Steve steps in brings back Poison trying to stop their fight and asks Hwoarang for his help. Hwoarang refuses, and Steve threatens to call Baek if he doesn't help. Hwoarang is forced to help and tries to calm down Hugo. Steve, unaware, he realizes that he's touching on of Poison's boobs and he feels embarrassed and steps aways from an angered Poison. Poison doesn't care how hot Steve, but yells at him for grabbing without permission. Hugo then pushes Hwoarang tells them if Poison doesn't like them, then he doesn't like them. Steve then tries to settle peace but fails.
Jin & Xiaoyu		Chun-Li & Cammy		Jin and Xiaoyu come across Chun-Li and Cammy and Chun-Li asks Jin if he's going to make their job easy, preparing to arrest him. Xiaoyu steps in and says that Jin is a good man, and thinks Chun-Li and Cammy will seduce him with their "tramp clothes". Cammy comments to Chun-Li that Xiaoyu is obnoxious and she agrees. Chun-Li introduces herself and her occupation and tells Jin that there are warrants out for his arrest and wants him to come with them without questions. Jin just looks at her, and Xiaoyu says that they not going with them. Jin then steps in and says that he's not interested in the warrants and tells them it's not going to be easy to take him. Chun-Li decides that they do it the hard way.
Lei & Christie		Elena & Dudley		Lei and Christie are walking and Christie states that their next destination is the South Pole, and Lei agrees but says there are other fighters after Pandora. He describes Elena and Dudley and says that they're an odd couple. Christie pauses and Lei asks what's wrong. Christie tells him that she found Elena and Dudley, and they approach them. Elena states that they been waiting for them and they want a good fight, much to Dudley's annoyance. Christie asks Lei what this is about and decide that it might be fun.
Bryan & Jack-X		Guy & Cody		Bryan and Jack-X spot Guy and Cody walking, and Bryan asks Jack-X how tough they were. Jack-X calculates their power levels, which are over 9000 and ranked Level 3A. It then starts to retrieve biographical data, but Bryan tells him to cancel it and calls out Guy and Cody and tells them to prepare themselves for a fight. Guy says that they don't have the time and begins to walk away. Bryan orders Jack-X to stop Guy and prepares to attack him, before Cody steps in. Cody then says the fight might be fun and they both get in fighting stances and the fight begins.
Lars & Alisa		Sakura & Blanka		Lars and Alisa are walking when Alisa collapses and Lars catches her and asks her what's wrong. Alisa states that she needs to recharge because her battery's running low. She also tells him she needs a strong source of electrical power to recharge. Lars thinks and hears electrical power coming from Blanka, who's showing his electricity to Sakura. Lars goes up to them and asks if he could borrow Blanka. This enrages Blanka because his mom always told him to not go off with strangers and calls a "bad man", and himself and Sakura get in fighting stances. Lars apologizes to Alisa, and she stands up and tells him that she can recharge when the battle is over.
Ogre		Akuma		Orge clears his path to Pandora's box and notices and blocks Akuma's Metsu Hadoken and states that the planet does have some strong warriors and tells Akuma (whose on a mountain top) to tempt his fate.

Sub-Boss Battles

During sub-boss battles, a team will face a specific team from the opposing universe. During the pre-battle cutscene, the sub-boss team will transform into Pandora Mode, making them stronger and more difficult than previous arcade teams.

All Street Fighter Characters		Jin & Xiaoyu		Jin and Xiaoyu serve as the sub-bosses of all Street Fighter characters. Jin warns the opposing team that no one will take Pandora and that it's his no matter how much power he has to use before transforming into Pandora mode. Xiaoyu supports him by saying that it belongs to Jin and that Jin belongs to her before she herself transforms into Pandora mode.
All Tekken Characters		M. Bison & Juri		Bison and Juri serve as the sub-bosses of all Tekken characters. Juri wants a fight against worthy opponents and challenges the opposing team to fight her while she transforms into Pandora mode. Bison soon highlights that their quest to the Box has come to an unfortunate end as he transforms into Pandora mode.

Boss Battles

During boss battles, a team will be facing a specific opponent from the opposing universe. The opponent will be alone, but will have the strength and endurance of a team, making it challenging to defeat them.

All Street Fighter Characters		Ogre		Ogre serves as the boss of all Street Fighter characters. A vortex appears and reveals Ogre before he flies to the ground and declares that the slaughter has begun.
All Tekken Characters		Akuma		Akuma serves as the boss of all Tekken characters. He appears out of nowhere and eruptly punches the ground before he warns the opposing team that his fists have come with chaos.
